Privacy policy
Who is responsible
Rommel Oy, Ajurinkatu 32, 11710 Riihimäki, Finland, Business ID FI30061824. Data protection contact: info@racon.io. See also the imprint.
What we process
- When you look up a domain: the domain you typed, and your IP address. The address is used to count lookups against the daily allowance. We store it only in a shortened, salted form (not readable as an address) and delete it after two days. The domain you look up is not linked to you.
- Server logs: the web server and the ingress keep an access log (time, address, page, browser) to run the service and to defend it against abuse. Logs are kept for a short period and then deleted.
- If you write to us: your email address and your message, to answer you.
There is no account, no tracking, no advertising and no analytics. The pages load nothing from other sites.
The domain data
Zoneroo shows facts that any resolver on the internet can read: DNS records of domains (mail servers, name servers, address records, text records) and the services they point to, with the dates we saw them. This is public technical information about domains, which are mostly owned by companies. A domain can name a person, for example a personal address. We show no names, no addresses and no contact details of people, only what the DNS says about the domain.
Why, and on what basis
Showing public DNS facts and counting lookups against abuse are our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): a research tool for the open internet and protection of it from bulk copying. If you object, see below.
Cookies
Zoneroo sets none.
Who receives data
Hosting: our own servers within the European Union. We do not sell data and do not pass it on, except where the law requires it.
Your rights
Access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and data portability, and the right to complain to a supervisory authority; in Finland that is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi). To have a domain removed from Zoneroo, write to info@racon.io with the domain name; we remove it from lookups, pages and the day's picks and stop showing it.
